Lost Mektoubs

Hi!

We have added the positions of you Mektoubs to the "Map position" page of character profiles. If they are in a stable, the town will be listed instead of a map.

So everyone who has lost his/her Mektoubs should now be able to find them again :)

Recent Downtime

Hiho!

I guess many of you have wondered, why the Armory has been down for a whole week.
The thing is, that we have grown very fast lately and many of you shared your API keys. Last week we reached the point, where reloading all the information from the API within the 15 minutes interval was no longer possible. We were working on a solution and I guess we found it.

There are now new rules in place for data refreshment:

• Guilds get refreshed on a random basis between 1 and 5 hours
• Offline characters get refreshed every 30 minutes
• Online characters get refreshed every 15 minutes

I think we can all live with that for now.
Also we did some tweaks to speed up the loading time of inventories and fixed the bulk display. It might not be 100% accurate but give a good overview.

Achievements

Hello Everyone!

Today we have expanded the Ryzom Armory and added Achievements. You may know such things from other games like Lord of the Rings Online, WoW, etc. The basic idea is to define certain goals players can achieve while playing their characters eg. "Obtain 10.000 Dappers".

We do not want to support competition (and the resulting flame wars), but help players to have some goals within the game. Goals are an important part of a game and since Ryzom lacks real goals, we thought this was a good idea.

There are now new privacy settings available to control, who can view your Achievements. By default every registered (and logged in) user can view them. You may change this settings at any time, but please keep in mind that the Armory only exists because there is something we can show. So please don't hide everything.

Downtime & Server Issues

Hiho!

We were moving the Ryzom Armory to a new server and encountered some problems. The database tables which hold your item's data were accidentally deleted and we had to restore the system and run tests. No data was lost permanentally or given away to anyone, so don't be afraid. It just meant a lot of work for us and since time was limited around christmas and the new year it just took some time.

The Armory is now back online and we hope that everything is working again. As far as item bulk is concerned, this feature will be back in a few days.

Please report any issues you encounter.

Results of the Grand Fall Contest

Thanks to your most determined efforts we have many new suscribers. Hopefully you have had the opportunity to meet these "new faces" on the bark.
